Inspectorate

INSPECTORATE

The inspectorate department is focused on implementing regulations as devised by law. This function is enabled by the Import and Export of scheduled agricultural products regulation notice No. 8 (Amendments) effective 1st June 2013.  It governs the local trade of agricultural produce to ensure that the country has enough food security, and local farmers have satisfactory market share for their produce.

This function strengthens the local trade of agricultural products.  Through stakeholder engagements that consist of farmers, processors, retailers and consumers and guidance, we are able to execute decisions that create a fair-trade environment for local farmers, processors and retailers
